As part of the Waste-Free Nava Kerala Project, Poothrikka Grama Panchayat achieved the prestigious distinction of securing First Place as the Best Grama Panchayat at the Vadavukode Block Panchayat level. 
This award is a recognition of the exemplary activities carried out in the areas of cleanliness, waste management, public participation and sustainable development. 
This achievement is the result of the collective efforts of the Grama Panchayat Administrative Committee, Haritha Karma Sena, Kudumbashree members, employees, elected representatives, officials and the general public.
